  • NFS Undercover & Tom Clancy's End War

    Hey Guys,

    NFS Undercover
I bought this game yesterday, and if I am honest havn't put it down, it is a great racing game with some very nice cars!

What are other people's interpritation of it?

    End War
I got this game for my birthday, and played it for the first time yesterday. Even though I have heard a few bad opinions of it, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a great game.

As above, what are other people's interpritation of it?

Interesting that you say that - I've not got it yet, as it seems to have been slated everywhere. I might try a demo, if there's one available. I did like NFS Carbon...

I've only played about 6-7 missions so far in the prelude, and I find it a bit ... fast paced for me. It's not too bad though, and I'm hoping I get some time to play it tonight.

Do you have these on the Xbox360 or the PS3? I've got Endwar on the PS3.

The Reviews I've seen of NFS:U have indeed ripped into it.

There's precious little of any worth coming out for a couple of months now - thankfully I've got about 10 games to play over the next couple of months so that should keep me busy for a while

The GTA DLC should be coming out in February.

Hehe, Nevermind, I have a passion for Xbox over PS3's I think PS3 are ridiculous, but this is my own opinion!

Also, I am comparing NFS to some very bad racing games that I also have, for example Forza, but I have to say, its the only racing game that has had me playing for longer than an hour in ages!

I have both, and I think the PS3's interface sucked donkeys balls - though, it has improved rather a lot in the updates, especially with the in game crossmedia-bar.

However, what do you think of the xbox360's new interface? It actually annoys me a bit, as I now have to do a few button presses rather than just one to sign in.

What's wrong with Forza?! I think it's excellent! I haven't played it for a while, just because I haven't really turned on the 360 for a while.
I am more of a Gran Turismo kind of racing game fan - but I do enjoy Burnout too.

I hate it, I think it has turned, what looked like a teenage/adult interface into a small childs interface, much like the Wii. However I feel it works on the Wii as it is for all ages rather than for the "older generation".

Again, it may just be me, but I felt that it was very hard to drive, and took too much effort to play, whereas with NFS, I feel it is very easy! I have to say, I proberbly agree with you about Gran Turismo, although I haven't played it since PS2.

As we are on the subject of good games. Gears of War 2 anyone? This has to be the game of the year for me, I don't think I have played a better game (console) all year.

                  Just me?

It is rather difficult compared to things like NFS/Burnout, but, it seems more realistic, which is why I like it. :-)
I still think Gran Turismo is better than Forza though.

I never got into Gears of War 1, so haven't bothered with Gears of War 2. I think it's just too hard for me.

Going back to the original, I've played Endwar a little now - done the prelude, and now played online one mission - I just find it way too confusing/fast. Even with the sitrep thing. I don't think it's my kind of game, and is about to get exchanged!
Also, damn thing doesn't like my voice - maybe I have the sound of panic, and it pretends not to understand, to make me panic more/get angry. ;-)

I'm a late-comer to the 360, so only just finished GoW 1 - I have assassins creed, far cry 2 and fallout 3 to finishing playing through before I move on to that.

Found GoW 1 quite good at the beginning, but got a bit boring towards the end - it's just "go into an area and kill things until it's clear" over and over again, occasionally broken up by cutscenes. About the only variety was driving the vehicle, but that was so scripted it was painful. Still, I bought GoW 2 when it was on offer, so will see what it's like.

Although you should update your profile, because Gears of War 2 is 18-rated

The last 3 360 games I scooped up were:

GoW2: Because I have GoW and its one of the best 360 games, co-op is fantastic!
CoD WaW: Because Modern warfare was one of the best FPS ever!
NFS U: I have most of the rest of the series as they are generally very good.

Thankfully, GoW2 was as good if not better than the first so I was very pleased however the same can't be said about the others. World at war is crap, its so repeative that I get headaches playing it! NFS U has cut out the best part - drifting and I don't understand why?

WaW was the first CoD I'd played; it had its moment, but I whipped through it far too quickly. Don't have a gold live account either, so that limits its replayability too.

My best buy so far was Battlefield Bad Company - something like £20, best FPS I've played since HL2, and the only one I've actually laughed at the script while playing. Fantastic value, even if I'd paid full price for it.

Have a feeling Fallout 3 will give me the best hours:cost ratio, but gets a bit annoying sometimes. Worst purchase was Alone in the Dark, which came in my console bundle; the only game I've ever taken back. And I bought the original Italian Job game...

                            You caught me there

I agree with the comments on WaW, I played the PC Beta and thought it was the worst game I have played by far, didn't end up buying it. Playing it on the PS3 several weeks later just reinforced my decision.

GOW2 I think is excellent, although I cant compare it to GOW1 as I didn't get it.

As with regards to drifting in NFS, U is my first one of the series, so I can't comment on it compared to the others. But you can still drift if you whack the handbrake on while turning a corner, or is this nothing compared to previous games?
