  • Streaming Spotify, Moving on From Sonos?

I like Spotify premium. I use it on an Iphone in the car and at home. I'm happy to pay and commit to Spotify.
I bought a Sonos 1 which is cool as far as it goes. But the Sonos app is a slight pain to use, I'd rather just use the Spotify app. I've had issues with the play lists not syncing from Spotify to Sonos. The Sonos only streams live so is dependent on home internet. I'd like to be able to play offline from downloaded Spotify tracks and those have a higher bit rate.

So I was thinking of selling my Sonos 1 and moving on.
What do you think of these:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-SW70...dp/B00OM25B7Y/
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-SW75...dp/B00OM25B8S/

half the price of Sonos and arguably better.

One or two unhappy users in the Amazon Reviews.

Not sure I would want to buy something like this that will only ever work with one streaming service. I guess if you never expect to leave Spotify and have redundant hardware that cannot be used elsewhere they do the job but not for me.

I share the same concerns as Mike, I wouldn't want to be stuck with one platform....

This is a lot more expensive but when you hear it you certainly know where your money went! Highly recommended.

But... the streaming feature... and their app that organizes your playlist according to the tempo of your movement... and a crackton of other features to force you "launch Spotify before breakfast and turn it off only before going to bed" as one of their executives said...

They spend much effort to entertain their current customer base... it does not appeal new customers, that's the problem...

I love my Sonos stuff. I use it a lot, and to be honest, their apps used to be a bit crappy. I generally have some "goto" playlists on Spotify which I use. Both my wife and I have accounts which we can each select within Sonos. I think it works really well.
